Overview
Why windows are their own job on the west coast
Windows are the first thing guests and customers see, and the last thing people get around to themselves. Close to the coast, salt, sand and damp work faster than further inland, and a pane that looks fine from inside can be completely dull from the outside.
We clean windows with clean water, a squeegee and a lint-free cloth rather than smearing products across the glass. It takes slightly longer, but it is the difference between a pane with no streaks and a pane that looks clean until the sun sits low.
Inside, outside, or both?
Inside is what collects cooking grease, fingerprints and dust in the rebate. It is also what is often included in a standing cleaning agreement.
Outside is what makes the big visual difference, especially after winter and after a spell of westerly wind.
Both sides at once gives the best result, because otherwise you end up hunting for which side the streak is on.
How often should windows be cleaned?
Holiday homes and properties close to the coast typically benefit from 2 to 4 times a year, with one round after winter and one before high season. Inland, 1 to 2 times a year is enough for most private homes.
Shops and offices with facade glazing and glass doors need it more often, because it is fingerprints rather than the weather that drives it.
Safety is part of the quote
We clean exteriors where there is safe access from ground level or with a long pole, typically up to the first floor. Above that, or with sloping roofs, scaffolding and hard-to-reach sections, we only take it by agreement and only where it can be done safely. If windows open or tilt inwards, we clean the outside from within.

Questions about window cleaning
Yes. We carry both business liability insurance and workers' accident insurance. That means if we accidentally cause damage to your home, furniture or belongings during the cleaning, it is covered. Our team is also covered if a work accident happens at your property. You can safely hand over the key to us.
It depends on the number of panes, whether it is inside, outside or both, how accessible the windows are, and whether it sits as an add-on to an agreement we already have. On many standing agreements interior windows are already included, and exterior windows are often included if we come at least twice a month. See the current prices on our prices page.
We clean exterior windows where it is safe and within reach, typically up to the first floor with a telescopic pole. Windows higher up or hard-to-reach glass sections we only take on by special arrangement, and we do not carry out risky work at height. Interior windows are generally included in the cleaning.
