End of tenancy cleaning, also called move-out cleaning, is a deep clean of an empty property, done right before it is handed back to a landlord or taken over by new residents. We work from a fixed checklist, and if your landlord or housing association has their own, we work from theirs instead. The point of it is simple: hand the place back in a state the inspection passes, so your deposit comes back.

Overview
What move-out cleaning is, and what it has to achieve
Move-out cleaning is also called end of tenancy cleaning or final cleaning. It is the clean you do once the furniture is out and the property stands empty. The goal is not for the home to look nice for a weekend. The goal is for it to be approved by a landlord, a property manager or a buyer walking around with a checklist, looking at exactly the places most people skip.
That is why move-out cleaning is a different kind of job from an ordinary deep clean. The surfaces are not what decides it. Oven grooves, the extractor hood filter, the grout behind the shower, skirting boards, door frames, the tops of the kitchen cabinets and the floor under the cooker are what decide it.
Why it almost always takes longer than expected
When the property is empty, everything shows. The dark patch behind the fridge, the limescale in the shower, three years of grease on the extractor hood. At the same time, move-out cleaning always lands at the busiest end of a move, where the keys have to be handed over on a set date and there is no room to start again.
The areas that most often trigger remarks at inspection
Kitchen: oven and cooker inside, trays and racks, extractor hood and filter, cabinets cleaned inside, plus the floor and wall behind the cooker and fridge.
Bathroom: limescale on tiles, taps, shower screen and toilet, grout, plus the drain and its grate.
The forgotten spots: skirting boards and trim, door frames and handles, switches and sockets, radiators, window sills and rebates, the tops of cabinets and door frames.
Do it yourself, or have it done?
A 60 to 80 square metre apartment typically takes our team 3 to 4 hours, and they do this every week. On your own, with ordinary household products, in the middle of a move, it is realistically a full day or more. So the calculation is rarely only about price. It is about what a remark and a re-clean cost you in time, deposit and stress.

- Extractor hood wiped, filter cleaned if it comes off without tools
- Fridge cleaned, freezer defrosted where possible
- Cooker and fridge pulled out and cleaned behind and under, where it is safe to do so
🚿 Bathroom and toilet
- Toilet, basin, taps and mirrors
- Descaling where needed
- Shower enclosure and bath: tiles, grout and fittings
- Drain and grate cleaned where possible without dismantling

- Interior window cleaning incl. frames and rebates
- Apartments: exterior windows where safe and accessible, typically up to first floor
- Above first floor by agreement only
- If windows tilt or open inwards, the outside is cleaned from within

Important: send the landlord's requirements before we start
- If the landlord or housing association has a checklist, we need it in writing before the clean so the points can be built into the job.
- Special requirements such as integrated appliances, ceilings, balcony and drains, cellars or storage rooms must be stated in writing before we start.
- Extra requirements can affect both price and time, so it is best to have them from the outset.

It depends on the size and condition of the property. An apartment of 50-80 m² typically takes 3-4 hours for our team. Larger homes or houses take longer. We always provide an estimate upfront.
Yes. We carry both business liability insurance and workers' accident insurance. That means if we accidentally cause damage to your home, furniture or belongings during the cleaning, it is covered. Our team is also covered if a work accident happens at your property. You can safely hand over the key to us.

Ideally the property should be as empty as possible so we can reach everything and make it inspection-ready. If a few items remain, we can still clean, but it may affect time and results. Message us and we'll assess it upfront.
Travel costs and travel time are normally included in your invoice, so you know the total price upfront. There are two exceptions. If we have agreed on an hourly-based contract, travel time may be part of the hourly billing. And over longer distances we usually list travel as a separate line on the invoice, so it stays fully transparent. We always tell you about any travel costs before we start.
